THE LEGISLATOR AND HIS AGENT: HOW THE OLD SYSTEM TRIES TO SURVIVE
I keep re-reading interviews with financial legislators. Each new one is like a carbon copy. Digital ruble, digital financial assets, mining, “we protect citizens,” “we create a safe environment,” “we regulate to protect.”
I look at their faces. I hear their voices. They are so confident. So calm. So righteous.
They are not lying.
They genuinely believe in what they are saying. That a new layer of control is security. That regulations are order. That if you force technology into old cages — it becomes “proper” and “safe.” That if you write laws — the system becomes just.
But that is the problem. They do not see that a cage is a cage. Even if it is digital. Even if it “protects.” Even if it is against fraudsters. They do not understand that their “protection” is just a new layer of old control. Thinner. More invisible. More frightening because people do not notice it.
They say: “We protect citizens from fraudsters.” But who will protect citizens from them? From their regulations that suffocate any creation? From their rules that do not let people breathe? From their “transparency,” which is actually total visibility?
What is the digital ruble? They say — convenience, speed, security. I say — it is a collar. They want to see every kopek. Every step. Every transfer. Not to protect. To control. To know who, where, and why. To press the “stop” button at any moment. To govern not through persuasion, but through access.
What are digital financial assets? They say — new investment tools. I say — it is an attempt to ride a technology they do not understand. They do not know how decentralization works. They do not know what smart contracts are. They do not know what trust without intermediaries is. Sothey do the only thing they know: they invent rules. Licenses. Restrictions. Permissions. They want to force new reality into old cages — because they no longer have the old world.
What is mining in their interpretation? They say — “we regulate to prevent harm.” I say — “we regulate so you do not harm our monopoly.” Because mining is about independence. About those who mine, rather than waiting to be given. About creating value without permission from above. And that is frightening for a system where everything is decided from above.
They genuinely believe in what they do. And that is the scariest part. They think they are saving the world. But in reality, they are preserving the old system. It is dying. They see its agony. And instead of helping the new be born, they try to prolong its suffering.
They are surrounded by agents. Many agents. Entourages, PR people, “experts” who manage reputations. They protect their geniuses. They scream. They threaten. They throw tantrums. When I look at this, I remember one important thing: anger, screaming, threats, hysterics — this is the highest degree of weakness.
Because inside — there is emptiness. Because a genius who fears questions is not a genius. Real geniuses do not scream. They are silent. They do. And they do not need protection — because they cannot be taken away from those who see. Their strength is not in reputation. Their strength is in creation.
Agents become enraged. And I understand why. The clearer it becomes that their geniuses are not needed — the angrier the agents become. Because if the genius is not needed — then they are not needed either. And that is death. Not physical. But the one that is worse: loss of meaning. Loss of role. Loss of self.
They think they are testing me. That they are the ones asking questions. That they are the ones threatening. But I have long known: when a person is strong — they do not scream. Do not threaten. Do not throw tantrums. They simply do. And my calmness is not weakness. It is strength they cannot defeat. I say: “Thank you.” And they have nothing to say. Because calmnesscannot be bought.
I looked at them. At the legislator. At his department. At his agents. At his entourage. At his weight in the old system.
And I saw: they are slaves. They do not know it. They think they are bosses. That they are kings. But kings are slaves of slaves. Without the system they are nobody. Without power they are nobody. Without a crown — emptiness. Without a department — an empty space. Without an entourage — loneliness. Without a “genius” — nothing.
And they become enraged. Because their time is running out. Because someone is building something new. And their role becomes unnecessary. And if their role is unnecessary — then they are unnecessary. Their agony is not my victory. It is their own choice. The choice not to exit. The choice not to see. The choice to cling to crutches.
I remember the words I once said in response to “we have always been slaves.” I said: “I never was.” I was never a slave. I always did what I love. I was supported. They took my projects. As soon as I became dangerous — they started trying to kill me. But I was never a slave. And I never will be.
There is a way out. It is not in their regulations. Not in their digital financial assets. Not in their “protection.” The way out is to go beyond the old system. To stop being afraid. To stop obeying. To stop looking for solutions where there are none.
The way out is to stop being a slave.
In the new system, there are no departments that decide for you. No laws that permit or forbid. No agents that protect geniuses. No kings that hand out permissions.
In the new system, there is action. There is creation. There are “drops” of light that assemble into a new reality.
And we are building it. Without regulations. Without permissions. Without fear. Without agents. Without kings.
