Free Telly TV Review 2024: The Hidden Cost of a “Free” Television
Telly — an American startup that manufactures televisions and distributes them for free to users in the USA.
Some features of the Telly device:
A main 55-inch 4K display and an additional 10-inch screen at the bottom. A soundbar with a built-in camera and microphone is located between them.
The bottom screen shows widgets with weather, news, stock quotes, as well as constant advertising, even when the user turns off the TV with the regular remote button, the advertising display continues to work !!!
A complete shutdown is only possible by holding the power button for three seconds.
According to the terms of use, owners are prohibited from physically covering the bottom screen.
To get the device for free, users must agree to several requirements:
The TV must be the main one in the house, it must be kept constantly connected to the internet and regularly used.
For violating these rules, the company charges a fine of $500;
During registration, owners undergo a detailed survey about their personal lives.
The company collects information about address, income, car, favorite stores, housing rental terms and content preferences.
Telly’s business model is based on advertising revenue, collection of user data and partnership programs.
