Who Really Owns Your Money?
Moscow, August 24, 2026
Last week, I was reading the USSR State Acts again. No, not to find conspiracy theories. But to understand one simple thing: why are we so sure that our money is ours?
We open our brokerage app, see the numbers, buy and sell stocks, bonds, currencies. Everything is transparent, everything is under control. We feel like owners. But what if that feeling is an illusion?
Brokerage Account: Not Money, But a Record
Let’s start simple. Your money in a brokerage account is not money. It’s a digital record that exists in a database. You don’t own shares directly — you own the broker’s obligation to you. If the broker freezes your account, you cannot withdraw your funds. If a regulator revokes the exchange’s LEI code, your assets will cease to exist in the global system.
Example: On June 12, 2024, OFAC placed the Moscow Exchange, NCC, and NSD on the sanctions list. Euroclear stopped servicing Russian clients’ accounts. The exchange continues to operate, but in the eyes of the international system, its legal existence is in question. If the LEI code is revoked, the organization in the global financial system is like a disconnected internet provider. Formally, you exist, but no one can see you.
State Acts: “Literary Characters” Instead of Living People
The USSR State Acts for April 2026 contain a formulation that sounds like nonsense:
“The Russian Federation, under a pseudonym as a fictitious, fictional, fairy-tale and non-existent character of a literary work as a natural person… opened knowingly void and invalid brokerage accounts…”
The authors of the State Acts claim that brokerage accounts were opened not for real people, but for “pseudonyms” — digital profiles that have no legal personality. That is, when you open a brokerage account, you register not yourself, but some kind of “avatar” that exists only in the database. And this avatar, coincidentally, is a literary character whose name is protected by copyright… which belongs to a Citizen of the USSR.
It sounds crazy. But this construction has its own logic:
I don’t know who the authors of the State Acts are. But I know that they found a legal loophole that can be exploited. And they built an entire theory around it. Now the question is: if you hold money in a brokerage account, can you be sure they belong to you, and not to some “avatar” created without your knowledge?
The Sanctions Trap: Your “Avatar” Ended Up on the Wrong Platform
When OFAC imposes sanctions against an exchange, your assets are frozen. Not because you broke the law, but because your digital profile ended up on the wrong platform. You can’t withdraw money — because you don’t have any. There is only a record that someone can delete or freeze.
This is not a conspiracy theory. These are facts:
Architectural Conclusion: True Ownership Begins with Consciousness
What does it mean to “own” an asset? It means you can dispose of it without intermediaries. That you can protect it from external interference. That your right to it does not depend on whether someone’s LEI code is active or whether your account is blocked.
True ownership is not a digital record in a database. It is a conscious connection between you and the asset. You only own what you can protect with your own consciousness, with your will, with your ability to act without the permission of third parties.
In the NERD system, which I write about in my materials, the private key ceases to be “just a number.” It becomes a perceptual entity — accessible only through the conscious perception of the owner. The key cannot be stolen, because it does not exist as a separate object. It exists only in your consciousness. That is true ownership: not a piece of paper, not a record, but your own perception.
A Question for You
If you hold money in a brokerage account or invest in Russian assets, ask yourself: who actually owns this money? You? Or a “literary character” with your name that exists only in a database?
You can continue living in illusion. Or you can start building a system where ownership is determined not by what is recorded in a registry, but by what you consciously hold and can protect.
The choice is yours.
